PokerStars has become one of the latest firms to receive a licence to operate in the newly regulated Spanish market. A statement from the firm’s spokesman Eric Hollreiser confirmed that PokerStars.es would be accepting Spanish customers from June 5th – just so long as Spain doesn’t suffer from any more delays. The same release also claims “Spanish players can continue to compete on www.PokerStars.com as normal and don’t need to take any action”. This would surely go against the statement made last night by the Spanish regulator that anyone on a .com domain will effectively have to start from scratch. It has also been confirmed on their own Twitter accounts that Poker770, LBApuestas, Acrismatic and Paf have also been awarded licences.
