Betfair has announced its latest member of staff as they procured the services of Matt Robinson. The helter skelter world of the company sees Robinson sign up as the company’s Emerging Markets Director and according to eGaming Review, he will take up the position from September onwards.
After taking on the role, Robinson said, “I am delighted to be joining Betfair in such an exciting role. Betfair has done a huge amount to revolutionize the industry in the UK and consumers around the world also deserve to benefit from its unique offering.”
His new position at Betfair will see him focus on the management and growth of their strategy in the all-important area of emerging markets.
Some publicly traded fisticuffs might take place as Betfair picked up Robinson from Pwin who will now be reeling at losing a valuable member of the team. Before his role as Central Marketing Director at Pwin, he spent six years at 888.com where he held a number of roles across the company.
Niall Wass, Betfair’s Chief Commercial Officer commented, “The creation of this role is further testimony to Betfair’s international aspirations and I am delighted to have Matt on board. Matt will play a vital role within the commercial function as we aim to position Betfair for entry into new countries and territories around the world.”
The weekend saw their shares hit a new record low as analysts continue to get ants in their pants over the company’s lack of underlying growth. Betfair also had to absorb the loss of CEO David Yu recently and have even been described recently as “effectively turning into a conventional bookmaker over time.”
