Now that the three-year renovation project has been completed for Arizona’s Harrah’s Ak-Chin Resort & Casino, it is expected that 100 new job opportunities will be available as a result of the multi-million dollar expansion plan.

The expansion plan helped to make the facility an even more impressive property, according to Robert Livingston, General Manager of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Resort & Casino:

“Harrah’s Ak-Chin’s guests come from across the state and around the world and are searching for one-of-a-kind experiences. The increase in gaming and entertainment space, as well as the addition of luxury guestrooms, means more people are coming to see what we have to offer. And that means more employment opportunities.”

The move to expand was driven by the rapid growth of the Maricopa area as well as the area in and surrounding Phoenix where the population and big business interests have grown rapidly over the last decade.

“The City of Maricopa’s bustling economy is great for business, but the local unemployment rate has made it difficult to fill open and specialty positions with local residents,” added Ak-Chin Resort & Casino Employment Manager Lauren Conley. “We have great opportunities and we invite the community to consider applying for one of our many open positions.”

To help in the hiring process, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Resort & Casino has hired two new talent specialists to assist in the process. Maggie Beronio and Amie Pluskowski have been assigned the task of assessing specifically what the needs are of the facility, then finding qualified applicants to fill those spots.

Beronio has a lot of experience in this area. She was recently employed as a recruiter with Legoland California Resort where she helped in the recruitment of over 3,000 candidates for the first two years that the resort was open. Pluskowski also has an impressive resume, helping to hire the staff at the Westbrook Stables facility.

“We’re thrilled to add Maggie and Amie to the Harrah’s Ak-Chin family,” explained Conley of hiring the two talent recruiters. “Their recruiting knowledge and ability to jump right in and make a difference make them a great addition to the human resources team.”

It is expected that the new positions will be available and posted soon. Those interested in applying are encouraged to visit the company’s website for updates.
