Esports global integrity control problem lessens as ESIC members expands

The world of esports has never felt safer after five more organisations, from all over the world, joined the Esports Integrity Coalition’s noble plans to reduce match fixing, doping, and other integrity issues in this burgeoning sport.

70,000 years ago the Cognitive Revolution began. 12,000 years ago and the Agricultural Revolution moved into town. 500 years ago came the Scientific Revolution. And 200 years ago saw the emergence of the Industrial Revolution.

And here we are.

The year is 2017, and we are on the precipice of another major shift in our evolution. I can feel it. This morning, when I woke up, I learned that another Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm had beaten humans in Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em, this time in China.

Control Issue. And when it comes to the numbers of people working on improving the advancement of AI technology compared to those working on the Control Issue,

And this brings me nice and neatly to esports.

As sportsbook operators gleefully rub their hands at the prospect of accepting $42.9 billion in annual wagers by 2020, it’s important that someone is also looking at the Control Issue.

ESME is the largest not for profit esports organisation in the Middle East and North Africa, and they have recently translated the ESIC Code of Conduct into Arabic and intend to roll out information seminars in the region.
