The Borgata Poker Open has announced its schedule for their September festival and it promises to once again fill the pockets of those fortunate to navigate their way through the fields of gold.
Borgata is the jewel in an Atlantic City crown that is not so much slipping off the kings head, but has already landed on the floor, and all of the kings men have trampled all over it.
With casinos closing left, right and center, and revenue either stagnating or falling, the East Coast Boardwalk could do with a pick me up and the heart of the East Coast live poker world is about to do just that when the Borgata Poker Open returns in September.
September 2-19 will see poker players from all over the world descend onto the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa to participate in 24-events with buy-ins ranging from $200 – $3,500.
There will also be an air of nostalgia about the place as BorgataPoker.com will be offering an online satellite program that takes us all back to the good old days before the lawmakers stuck their unwanted noses into our business.
Once again the piece de resistance will be the PartyPoker sponsored WPT Borgata Championship. A $3,500 re-entry event, with a $3m guarantee, that will have the greatest players in the world clambering for a seat.
The series will kick off with the first of 10 guaranteed events. The $2m guaranteed Big Stack No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) Re-Entry. It’s a $560 buy-in with five starting days, similar to the WPT500 event that was held at the Aria and attracted a whopping 3,599 entrants.
The series will also have a wide range of games, with all the usual suspects in line; the addition of a $560 Borgata Ladies Event, with a $25k guarantee, and the inaugural Mike Sica Seniors Memorial Event, which will be a $350 NLHE Re-Entry event.
Re-entries seem to be the order of the day with 16 of the 24 events running this format.
