Ultimate Poker agree a promotional deal with the El Cortez Hotel & Casino that will allow their flock of online poker players to deposit, and withdraw, from the casino, and in return they will promote Ultimate Poker as their online poker room of choice.
The El Cortez Hotel & Casino certainly has character, but since the beginning of this year, it didn’t have any poker.
The stalwart of the Fremont East Entertainment District threw the white sheets over their live poker tables at the turn of the year, but a new deal with Ultimate Poker has cast a fresh new hue over the place.
The El Cortez has become the first downtown establishment to offer cages that will take, and hand out, money to the customers of an online poker room, and in return the aged old establishment will push the online poker room to its customers.
The deal is a sensible extension to the one El Cortez already has with the Station Casinos sports book, and it’s hoped that the promotional alliance can take advantage of the current online poker wave of optimism that has been kicked up by the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
“By combining the online accessibility of Ultimate Poker, with the classic Vegas feel of the El Cortez, we’re giving new and existing players a different way to experience the game of poker.” Said El Cortez Executive VP Alexandra Epstein.
Ultimate Poker players can now deposit, or withdraw, at more than 20 live venues courtesy of deals they have made with the likes of Peppermill Resorts, the El Cortez, and of course, their own Station Casino brands.
Online poker revenues for Nevada increased by 8.84% in May, to $862,000, and although the more recent figures are yet to hit the cold light of day, one expects that figure to rise courtesy of the flurry of activity created by the annual hosting of the WSOP.
The question is, will the interest, excitement and stickability continue?
