WSOP Days 31 & 32 recap sees Phil Ivey win his 10th bracelet, Tyler Patterson, David Miscikowski and David Olson win their first; Erick Lindgren and Connor Drinan win seats into the ONE DROP and much more.
The battle for the legacy of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) hots up as Phil Ivey draws closer to Phil Hellmuth’s all-time bracelet lead after securing his 10th bracelet win in Event #50: $1,500 Eight-Game Mix.
Ivey defeated a field of 485 players to capture the $167,332 first prize, and there would have been no bigger fan than Daniel Negreanu. The pair offered even money that one of the big guns would hit the target at least once this year, and Ivey’s win means that bet has now been secured.
“It’s nice for me, but it’s also nice for Daniel,” Ivey told PokerNews after his win.
Ivey took the chip lead into the final table, and never fell below 500,000, before facing off against Bruce Yamron in heads-up action. The master barely lost a hand during the heads up phase and now joins the likes of Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan on rung number 10.
“It’s nice man. It’s pretty special I have wanted to get to 10 for a while. I completely fanned last year, but this year I got it done.” Said Ivey.

Tyler Patterson has denied Scott Clements a third bracelet after picking up the victory at the fourth time of asking.
Patterson was victorious over a field of 991 players in the baby version of PLO Hi-Lo and takes home $270,992 for his troubles. It was a bittersweet moment for Patterson, who had to beat his friend in heads-up action, to take his first gold bracelet.
“The cards fell in my favor and so it worked out.” Patterson told PokerNews after his win.
It was another good performance by Jeff Madsen who added a fourth place to his recent 20th place finish in the $5k for his fourth cash of the series, and it was the second deep run for the 2013 double bracelet winner, Tom Schneider, who added a sixth place finish to the eighth place finish he achieved in the $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo.

It was Miscikowski’s first major title success, after finishing 23rd in this event back in 2010. Szecsi won his bracelet in a $1k event back in 2013.
It was a pretty juicy final table with the German pro Manig Loeser, former November Niner John Dolan, and the former European Poker Tour (EPT) champion, Kevin MacPhee, all making the cut.

David Olson Wins Event: #52 $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship
David Olson wins his first major title in one of the smallest events of the series.
122-players entered the $10k Limit Hold’em Championship, and the man who finished second in a WSOPC event in Bossier City, back in 2011, had just enough steam to motor past Mikail Tulchinskey in heads-up action.
Once again it was a tasty final table with Bill Chen, Jan Sjavik and Gabriel Nassif making the grade. Both Chen and Nassif were making their third final table of the series.
Olson took him $303,909 for his victory

The Best of the Rest
Erick Lindgren and Connor Drinan are going to be playing in the ONE DROP after taking one and two in the $25,300 satellite here at the Rio late last night. JC Tran picked up $250k for finished third after the A4o of Lindgren cracked his kings, and Jason Koon bubbled in fourth.
90 players turned up for that one.
The Monster Stack is down to just 62 players, after four days of action, and Sean Drake leads with 4,975,000 chips. Austin Bursavich is also close behind with 4,915,000 chips.
WSOP bracelet winner Jason Duval (3,465,00), Thayer Rasmussen (3,005,000), Tom Alner (1,785,000) and Mathew Frankland (1,575,000) are ones to watch in that one.
Finally, Event #53: $10,000 Ladies NLHE Championship has reached the final table and Mikiyo Aoki leads the pack. Xuan Liu was the highest profile placement finishing in 11th place.
