2014 Champions League Betting: Match Lines and First Goal Scorer

Nissan Are the New Sponsors of the UEFA Champions League

champions-league-finalThe culmination of the European football season is only a few days away and in preparation for the Champions League finals between La Liga’s Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, prop bets are already live.

Our job here is to dive in and check out which ones offer some enticing odds.

Before we go to the prop bet that really gets us juiced for the finals, it’s important to remember the actual line and two-way betting has the Galacticos as 1/2 favorites over their local rivals, who are 7/4 underdogs. Add the always interesting draw result and Real’s odds go up to even money with Atletico at 3/1 and a draw at 5/2. Meanwhile, 90-minute betting has Real at 19/20 favorites with Atletico Madrid, also at 3/1.

The first goalscorer bet is one of the most interesting props in the market because it gives bettors an indication on who sports books are leaning on to take the lead over the other team. Not surprisingly, the three players with the shortest odds are all from Real Madrid, beginning with Cristiano Ronaldo at 3/1 and followed by Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, both of whom have been penciled in at 6/1.

Injury concerns notwithstanding, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa is next up on the list at 13/2, followed by another Real striker, Alvaro Morata at 7/1, and Atletico teammate David Silva at 15/2.

Two interesting long shots from both teams are Real’s Sergio Ramos at 16/1 and Atletico’s Koke at 25/1. Both have figured prominently in their team’s scoring so there’s a decent chance that both will have scoring opportunities in the early parts of the match this Sunday.
