Clooney responds to Wynn’s comments, pretty much calls him a liar

steve-wynn-george-clooneyThe Steve Wynn – George Clooney feud still has some steam left a week after a shouting match between the two broke out over dinner. Apparently, Clooney didn’t take too kindly to Wynn flat out denying he’d called President Obama an asshole.

That’s the story Wynn told Bloomberg’s Market Makers late last week, but Clooney is calling bullshit on the casino mogul’s powers of recall. The 52-year-old Hollywood A-lister released a statement emphatically denouncing the casino owner’s attempts to play down the volatile exchange.

“He now says he didn’t call the President an a-hole,” Clooney’s statement read. “That is false. He bellowed ‘I voted for the a-hole’ and then called him the same thing several more times as the dinner came to an abrupt end.”

Clooney continued with his own recollection of the events that led to him walking out of the dinner. “Again there were eight people at the table, eight witnesses,” the actor added. “I did in turn call him the same body part and walked out. Again he can make up whatever story he wants, but these are the facts.”

If effectively calling the casino mogul a liar wasn’t enough, the actor suggested Wynn ought to “look to his left and right and find anyone in his sphere that says anything but ‘yes’ to him.”

“He needs to take off his red sparkly dinner jacket and roll his sleeves up every once in a while and understand what most of the country is actually dealing with.”

Wynn has more important business to deal with these days, particularly all the litigation he and Universal Entertainment boss Kazuo Okada have been tied up in for years. But a man with Wynn’s ego isn’t going to sit back and let a guy like Clooney get the final laugh. Stay tuned because this feud is just getting started.
