Ahead of the highly anticipated opening of City of Dreams Manila later this year, Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts Corp. is beginning to ramp up its hiring process with the announcement of a major recruiting campaign. The local unit of Melco Crown Entertainment plans to hire 5,000 employees in time for the resort’s opening.
Melco’s comprehensive career recruitment marketing campaign, which it launched earlier this month, is attracting a lot of attention from Filipinos. Recently, a job fair held at a local mall in the Philippines attracted over 2,000 applicants, all of whom are vying for any of the full-time and part-time positions the company is set to provide.
It goes without saying that a job in this kind of industry offers plenty of opportunities for employment, with some jobs even carrying that all-too attractive “flexible working hours” condition.
The chance of being part of a project as big as City of Dreams Manila is also an alluring prospect, something that should be considered by anybody who wants a job in the business. Sure, it could be taxing, but it could also provide plenty of room for vertical growth and more opportunities down the road.
It’s not often that a company regarded as offering “the ultimate in world-class entertainment, gaming, hotel, retail and F&B career opportunities” is offering as many employment opportunities as it is right now.
Melco is expected to have more of these job fairs to achieve its goal of hiring 5,000 employees before the opening of City of Dreams Manila. The sheer size of the project alone costs $1.3 billion so you can at least expect the company to hire only the best of the best to take care of its glistening new baby.
