bwin-party-news-lord-moonie-steps-down-from-the-boardBwin.party’s board reduces to nine after the resignation of Lord Moonie; Robert Mats Eriksson wins the bwin sponsored WPT National in Barcelona and a sponsorship deal is agreed with the Belgian basketball outfit BC Oostende.

And Then There Were Nine

The bwin.party board is now a nine-member affair after Lord Lewis Moonie stepped down from his role as a non-executive director with immediate effect. Moonie joined the board of PartyGaming back in December 2007 and remained a director after the merger with bwin in March 2011.

Simon Duffy, Chairman of bwin.party, said: “Lewis has made a significant contribution to both the development of PartyGaming and bwin.party. We thank him for his tireless efforts over the last six years and wish him well for the future.

“This change conforms to our previously stated aim to reduce the size of the board, whilst maintaining compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code’s recommendation on the balance of independent and non-independent directors.”

There are no reports of any additions to the squad at the time of writing.

BC Oostende Join the bwin Fraternity

Bwin continue their march towards European sport sponsorship domination by inking a deal with the Belgian basketball outfit BC Oostende, that will see the online gaming operator become the online betting and gaming partner of choice for the next three-years. As part of the deal bwin.party will have the license to create products that feature the branding of the slam-dunksters.

“This agreement reinforces bwin.party’s position as the premium sports book for Belgian customers enabling us to offer them an unparalleled range of online and real world offers, taking them to the heart of sport,” bwin.party’s Belgium country manager, Marlon Van Der Goes, said.

The BC Oostende deal is not the only bwin.party connection in Belgium after bwin joined forces with the Belgian football team Anderlecht back in the summer.

Bwin.party are also partners with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, Marseille and the reigning European Champions Bayern Munich.
