SBTech to Provide a Sports Betting Solution for the Genting Owned Bimini Superfast Ferry

SBTech to Provide a Sports Betting Solution for the Genting Owned Bimini Superfast FerryThe month of July was a busy one for SBTech, and August has started in pretty much the same vain. The turnkey sports betting solutions provider has shook hands with Genting Alderney on an innovative deal that will see them provide a sports betting solution for the Genting owned cruise ship that sails, twice daily, between the Port of Miami and the Bahamian Island of Bimini – the home of Genting Resorts World.

Genting have wanted to create some casino scented foundations in Miami for quite some time, but rather than wait for the passing of appropriate legislation, they decided to take the proactive approach by creating the Resorts World Bimini Bay, just two hours ride from the Miami coastline. Instead, of providing a mountain for Mohamed they invested upwards of $100m on improved air and sea transportation so they could take Mohamed to the mountain.

One of those modes of transport is via the Gulf Stream and the agreement will see SBTech create a floating sports book on the Bimini Superfast Ferry. The German built ship can reach speeds of up to 30 knots, making her the fastest cruise ship in the USA, and as a 32 gross ton monster, she has no problem traversing the powerful Gulf Stream where she conveys over 6,000 passengers on a daily basis.

SBTech will ensure that sports betting lovers will receive up to 10,000 live events on a monthly basis, with information being displayed in the sports bar via self-serving betting terminals. The new sports betting style bar will also include a manned customer service desk and manned cashier. The sports betting platform will also be mobile compatible through the use of HTML5 technology meaning you don’t even have to be in the bar to place a bet.

“SBTech has demonstrated their knowledge and experience in successfully penetrating land based sports markets with their very attractive sports betting solution and an impressive mobile betting platform,” says Peter Nolan, Managing Director of Genting Alderney. “It’s exactly the kind of turnkey approach we’ve been looking for, one that will impress and entertain Bimini SuperFast passengers.”

This is the fourth major deal for SBTech in as many weeks after splashing some ink with iSoftBet, Mermaidbet and the announcement of the extension of their partnership with the online gaming operator ComeOn.

“We are delighted that a respected company such as Genting has chosen our platform for this ambitious project,” says SBTech CEO Itai Zak. “It further solidifies our reputation of providing a very high quality turnkey sports betting solution and we’re confident that visitors to Bimini Super Fast Ferry will enjoy our wide range of US sports betting opportunities.”
