Paddy appoints two and pay Bendtner’s fine; Worldlink get marketing expert; Betboo release Mobenga mobile product

William Reeve is co-founder of LOVEFiLM.com and joins the firm as head of operations with the role starting on September 5. Fin Goulding, meanwhile, is the former CTO at lastminute.com and will start his job as chief information officer (CIO) from June 18. Commenting on the appointments, chief executive Patrick Kennedy, said: “William will bring deep online operations experience, along with great strategic thinking to the Group. Fin has best in class technology expertise and leadership experience which will add to our ability to scale our technology function in support of continued growth.”

The firm has also agreed to pay out the €100,000 fine that was handed down to Nicklas Bendtner for wearing Paddy’s lucky pants. UEFA banned the player for one game as well with Paddy Power tweeting earlier today: “Inspired by your Twitter feedback, we have agreed to pay the barmy €100k fine that #UEFA dished out Niklas Bendtner. Niklas Bendtner shouldn’t suffer because of #UEFA‘s double standards, & penalised for wearing his lucky pants, which was just a bit of fun.”

Data provider Worldlink Group have appointed former UEFA Champions League marketing director Stephen Pearson as their new chief marketing officer. Pearson brings a wealth of experience to the role having performed similarly at the FA Premier League, VISA, EA, PlayStation and McDonalds. At Worldlink he’ll be responsible for marketing the Worldlink/BetButler application and his time spent at Partygaming will prepare him for the role.

GVC’s Betboo gaming brand has chosen Mobenga to provide a mobile sports betting product. The Playtech subsidiary will give Betboo customers the chance to bet whilst on the move and Mobenga CEO Christian Rajter said: “Betboo is an exciting brand and is associated with fun, sports, community and friends and we are very excited to bring this into the South American mobile space.”
