A Sky Vegas casino customer has pocketed a jackpot worth over half a million pounds. Known as “DW from Middlesbrough” the woman won £587,697.86 on Easter Sunday whilst playing the progressive jackpot slot, Chests of Plenty. The winner said: “When the amount I had won popped up on screen I started shaking uncontrollably and felt utterly sick. It was late at night but I had to tell someone immediately so I called my partner and woke him up. Neither of us slept a wink that night!”
Pennsylvania Lottery officials are still waiting to give away a Mega Millions ticket worth $250,000 left over from a draw last year. The prize was won in the draw on April 29, 2011 and the year deadline to claim the prize has under two weeks to run. It means the claim must be filed in person on Friday, April 27 and mail must have a postmark dated April 8. “We never like to see Lottery prizes go unclaimed so we are hoping the winner of this substantial prize will come forward before the winning ticket expires,” said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. “We encourage anyone who purchased a Mega Millions ticket in Bensalem last April to check it as soon as possible.”
The same lottery has identified where two tickets for Saturday’s Powerball draw were bought. Both tickets are worth $1 million and were bought in Montgomery and Franklin counties. The two lucky retailers that sold the tickets receive a $5,000 bonus for vending the tickets and like the Mega Millions draw there is a year to claim the prize.
