Unibet has reached an agreement to acquire Bet24. The online gaming arm of the Swedish firm Modern Times Group (MTG) becomes part of Unibet for the princely sum of €13.5 million (£11.25 million). It means Unibet will transfer approximately 45 of MTG’s Nordic Betting subsidiary employees into its Maltese business. Hans-Holger Albrecht, president and CEO of MTG, commented: “Unibet is one of the largest and most established players in the European market and therefore provides an attractive platform for Bet24 customers and for the further development of the business.” Bet24 will continue to accept bets via Bet24.com and Bet24.dk and it will eventually be rebranded under the Unibet brand.
