OpenBet continues retail push; Intralot extends Aussie stay; Intralot de Peru rebrands lotto game

Openbet IntralotOnline gaming software supplier OpenBet has appointed a new VP of sales as they continue to push the retail side of the business. Tim Kennedy, a “retail industry expert” joins after a 13-year career in the computer software and retail betting industry where he last worked for Barcrest. Kennedy’s job will be to move the firm’s sales strategy forward and manage the roll out of the OpenBetPromote product. The company also announced an enterprise licence was handed to SIS to resell the aforementioned product.

International gaming industry firm Intralot has extended its agreement to provide services to the Lotteries Commission of Western Australia (Lotterywest). The three-year contract extension means the deal runs until 2016 as opposed to 2013. Intralot Australia, the firm’s cousin down under, will continue to be responsible for supply, ongoing maintenance and on-site support for Lotterywest’s integrated gaming system. Mrs. Jan Stewart, Lotterywest CEO, commented: “We are delighted to continue our successful and well established cooperation with INTRALOT. During the last 5 years INTRALOT has supported our goals to continue to operate a lottery that offer to the people of Western Australia exciting gaming experiences with absolute security and credibility and which will support our vision of being a leader in building our community. We are confident that in the next years our partnership with INTRALOT will be as successful helping us to increase our contribution and support to the many Western Australian community organisations as well as health services, the arts and sporting organisations”.

The firm’s Peruvian arm, Intralot de Peru, has rebranded its lottery game as Tinka Megabol. Originally simply known as Tinka, the game has created 110 millionaires in its 17 years and became one of Peru’s favorite brands. What’s more, the new brand will offer a Mega Jackpot of 10 million soles on top of the usual jackpot starting at 1.5m soles. Commenting on the decision, Mr. Vangelis Apostolakopoulos, Executive President and General Manager of INTRALOT de Peru, said: “This important initiative once again highlights our company’s commitment to offer consumers greater value and excitement and seek more ways of enriching the lives of the Peruvian people.”
