Betfair makes another appointment; OLBG wins good deed of the day award; Mr Green launches new affilaite program

BetfairBetfair has continued its recruitment drive by hauling Nick Hagen aboard as their new Sports Operations Director. His tenure starts on December 12th after he’s tied up the odds and ends in his role as COO for sports betting at GTECH G2. His position with the betting exchange will see Hagen overseeing trading operations and developing the company’s risk-based systems “which will play a greater role within the core exchange following the launch of Betfair’s new sports site next year,” according to the news release. The appointment follows Breon Corcoran’s arrival from Paddy Power as new CEO and a number of other key members of staff arriving.

Gaming industry website and community Online Betting Guide (OLBG) has signed up to sponsor British Olympic table tennis hopeful Kelly Sibley. In the feel good story of the day, the forum came to the rescue of Sibley after it was revealed that her funding had been withdraw and her Olympic dream was therefore in jeopardy. OLBG member RomanyKing noticed this and let the guys at the betting guide know. They’re now providing Sibley with day-to-day finances to train at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield as well as funding a training trip to China ahead of the games. Swedish online casino Mr Green is launching a new affiliate program in collaboration with NetRefer. Mr Affiliate is the firm’s guise in that world and new the deal will mean an “improved statistical tool” and those affiliated to the firm will be able to keep up with the company’s news a lot more easily. Information director Stina Reutercrona added: “The new Mr Affiliate makes it easier to stay up to date with customer offers and company news thanks to the blog, now incorporated into the site. Thanks to the use of Bannerflow we can also create new banners to our affiliates much easier than before.”
