Amongst city lads financial spread betting has ballooned over the past year or so and the apps owe a debt of thanks to the iPhone. City Index is no different and as they announce an updated version of their app it has been revealed just how lucrative mobile trading is for spread betting firms.
Joshua Raymond, Chief Market Strategist at City Index, stated, “Since the release of City Trading™, the percentage of total trades placed on our mobile platforms has risen from less than 3% to 15%, which underlines just what an impact the City Trading™ app has had on traders’ behaviour.”
The new features include a live charting package as well as newsfeeds from Dow Jones Newswires. It comes after the spread betting specialists launched a Blackberry offering just this week.
