The Rank Group saw strong revenue growth for the first six months of the year and they had the Rank Interactive arm to thank for much of the success. As a group, revenue was up by 4% for the opening 25 weeks of the year but without the Interactive cog of the business, it could be a lot different.
Strong performance from meccabingo.com meant that revenue grew by 26% over the first half of the year. This included growth of 33% in sports and 25% in games. Rank also had mobile gaming to thank. 70,000 customers have so far taken advantage of the opportunity to download the Mecca Bingo and Blue Square iPhone app since the launch in January.
The firm also stated that the revenue growth for the year so far was “as a result of cross-selling from Rank’s land-based venues and continued investment in the Group’s brands”.
Meanwhile, eGaming Review has announced that entries are open for this year’s EGR Operator Awards. Taking place on Wednesday 30th November 2011, the awards will be handed out in front of around 800 of the most enamored personalities that the iGaming industry has to offer. Now into its seventh year, there have been four categories added this year. They are In-play Operator of the Year, French Operator of the Year, Sports-betting Operator of the Year and Spread Betting Operator of the Year.
