city-bingo-on-dragonfish-networkDespite the sluggishness of the Swedish government to effectively regulate the gaming market, Swedish-licensed lottery operator A-lotterierna has moved forward in the company’s plans to offer a more competitive product.

A-lotterierna’s online gaming site is scheduled for launch in early 2012 and in advance of the launch, A-lotterierna has selected Genera Networks to power its new online gaming platform. For Genera Networks , A-lotterierna becomes the first client for its regulated bingo network. As part of the agreement Genera will provide bingo, instant games and online versions of scratchcard brands Femman and Glädjelotten.

Jan Stocklassa, CEO of Genera Networks said in the release, “We are very excited about this opportunity…A-lotterierna has been a trusted lottery in Sweden since 1956 and for them to choose us as their partner confirms our dedication to provide the best solutions for regulated operators.”

Anders Jansson, CEO of A-lotterierna added in the release, “By co-operating with Genera Networks and Microgaming Software System we have the possibility to offer our customers unique bingo solutions for the regulated Swedish market…The system also gives us good prerequisites to work with consumer protection, which is an obvious choice for us.”

Since 1956, A-lotterierna’s profits have been funnelled to its two controlling organisations, the Socialist Workers Party and the Swedish Social Democratic Youth League. Last year, A-lotterierna generated total gaming revenues of €55m and profit of €17m.
