ukash-latin-americaLatin America is one area in the global gaming industry that is currently experiencing growth, resulting in an increasing number of firms making their way to this part of the world. Whether one reason behind it because the Brazilians throw a really frickin’ good beach carnivals is not known but the enthusiasm for this part of the world has already moved one conference to set up shop there.

It doesn’t stop there though, and today saw renowned payment processing site Ukash announce their plans to expand their company by offering online cash payment options in Argentina and Brazil.

“We are rapidly building our presence in Latin America and adding these significant markets to our growing portfolio is another step in the right direction,” said Ukash chief executive David Hunter.

Argentinean customers can buy Ukash vouchers from shops in towns and cities across the country for up to US$100 to be redeemed at certain places online. Brazilians, on the other hand, can pick up vouchers through the popular local bank scheme, Boleto Bancario.

Hunter continued: “Ukash has been well received there, and we are keen to maintain the momentum. Argentina and Brazil are two of the region’s fastest growing territories and we look forward to building a customer base in both countries that will benefit from the simplicity and global appeal of Ukash.”

Payment problems have plagued the online gaming industry in Latin America due to the fact that many people simply don’t have credit cards and this announcement from Ukash should open online gambling up to many more consumers.
