Italian regulator AAMS released figures earlier this month showing that turnover from the Italian online market grew by 28% last year to €4.8bn.

This growth took place despite there being a limited games offering. Swedish operator Betsson and G.Matica are surely expecting that figure to increase significantly with more comprehensive offerings, including; online casino games and cash poker. Both G.Matica and Betsson expect to be generating profit from Q2 moving forward.

“With this Italian B2B-deal, Betsson is taking an important step in the new regulated European environment,” said Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson AB. “Betsson views the Italian market as a good jurisdiction to operate within from a local licensing perspective. Our partner has a solid background in IT and gaming, as well as local knowledge of the Italian market, and Betsson contributes with valuable gaming know how and operations, which together will be a great foundation for success on the market”.
