Crack out the single malt, get a load of shrimp on the Barbie, and more importantly get at least 15 slabs of beer on ice. Well it’s not everyday that Australia beats England at cricket anymore is it?
Maybe that’s blowing England’s trumpet a little too much, but after seven games unbeaten in the Twenty20 format, the pommies finally lost.
The tour so far has only been surpassed by the Saints @ Seahawks Wild Card match up last weekend in terms of excitement and the latest installment didn’t disappoint.
As with yesterday’s game it went to the final ball with Tim Bresnan needing to hit a six off it for England to win. Unfortunately he came back with a single and has immediately been dismissed from the England side for being a bottle job.
Australia, meanwhile, take a slender advantage into the one day series mainly down to them being World Champions at the mid-length form of the game. As for England they’ll likely field an almost unrecognizable team from the Twenty20, again showing the strength in depth they have. Much of this is down to so many South Africans deciding to immigrate to the UK and should Kevin Pietersen star you already know those Aussies will be crowing.
