How most of the iGaming world must wish that they are in Vegas right now. Save the fact that it’s Vegas, the news has just filtered through that Victory Poker pro Antonio “the Magician” Esfandiari took his second World Poker Tour (WPT) title at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Add to this the fact that it’s 3:30am and Antonio’s birthday, and if you’re in Vegas and not already on your way to the Bellagio then what’s wrong with you!?
Antonio was heads-up with fellow Victory pro Andrew Robl for around two and a half hours before the Magician raised to 800,000 and Robl moved all-in with Qd10c. Esfandiari followed him all in with KcJd. A long delay allowed the crowd to go wild on both sides, with Antonio’s rail giving a hearty rendition of Happy Birthday. The flop came with AdKd6d, the turn 6c, and the diamond Robl needed never came as the river card was 5s.
Antonio had won on a pair of Kings and the $870,124 that comes with it. Esfadiari surfed into the night aboard his sea of friends and they may will make it an all-nighter in Las Vegas.
