iga-2011-charitiesWith January comes the start of Awards season, the People’s Choice, Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Golden Globes and more. The Gaming Industry is no different, on Monday 24th of January the International Gaming Awards will feature all the wine, food, wine, entertainment, and maybe a little more wine that you come to expect as an attendee. You might even come away with an award if you’re lucky. Don’t worry if you fail to capture one of the actual awards themselves though.

CalvinAyre.com will be covering the event with the usual edgy tablog style that you’ve come to associate us with. Even better than that, if the awards are preceded by a party, which, let’s face it, they usually are, you can win that ever-coveted DAF award you’ve had your eye on for a while now.

The whole shebang takes place in the plush surroundings of London’s Jumeirah Carlton Hotel, which I’m sure you’ll agree is a more than appropriate location for such an event. The event really is all about the charities that it supports though.

This year’s event is no exception as the awards and attendees will be raising money to support CARE International and CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA. The charity auction will raise a large amount of money for the two charities, a number of unique items on offer for the attendees.

As for the International Gaming Awards 2011 themselves, the entrants will be battling it out in 18 categories that span both land-based and online gaming. The awards on offer cover everything from Casino Operator of the year and Online Poker Supplier, to Online Casino Operator and iGaming Software Supplier, with awards even on offer for the best restaurants at casinos and the one with the best design.

Hotly contested will be the Online Casino Operator award that will go to one of 32Red, Bwin, Bet365, Betsson, Ladbrokes, PartyGaming or Unibet. It will be interesting to see how much it hots up between Bwin and PartyGaming, as the merger could well be near to completion when these awards take place.

Melco Crown Entertainment, one of the companies up for an award, will have a table at the ceremony. Amongst the delegates seated here will be the company CEO Laurence Ho, one of the most respected individuals in the burgeoning Asian gaming market.

With companies as diverse as Betfair, City of Dreams, Full Tilt Poker, The Olivo Restaurant, and William Hill Football up for awards, the ceremony itself will be quite a spectacle. Join the industry’s elite by booking your table now here
