An allegedly leaked email claims that Microsoft is beta-testing a multi-player poker game for its Xbox 360 game system. The Microsoft Games Studios emails contain invitations to participate in something called Full House Poker, a chance to “bet your way to fame as you compete against your friends and thousands of other players around the world in live ‘Texas Heat’ poker game shows.”
Sadly, this doesn’t appear to be a way to slip real-money play past the DOJ’s watchful eyes. It seems to be a pitch for an episodic game show to run on the Xbox Live Primetime platform, similar to the company’s cancelled 1 vs. 100 trivia program. That would make the emails appear to be a form of viral marketing, and we stupid bastards have just helped them in their quest to get the word out. Fine. Go play your stupid Microsoft pretend poker. When you feel like taking off your training wheels, try a big boy version.
