You don’t hear a massive amount about cheating, and then they all seem to come out of the news woodwork on the same day. Boxing has had its fair share of knock downs in recent times, so the news that the California State Athletic Commission has refused a license to Manny Pacquiao’s latest opponent should come as no surprise.
The commission voted 5-1 against reinstating Antonio Margarito’s license to box, after he was found to have illegal inserts in his gloves in a ninth round loss to Shane Mosley early last year. If Mosley knocked him out in nine rounds, Pac Man may well do it in nine seconds, even if Margarito has rocks in his gloves. Read more.
