Paddy Power pays out early on Conservative win

Paddy Power is playing the early pay-out card again, two days before the UK goes to vote, after deciding to pay all those punters who placed bets on David Cameron to be the next Prime Minister and the Conservatives to win the most seats in the General Election.

With the Tories only marginally ahead in the poll, this appears on the face of it to be quite a bold move, given that a quarter of all of those polled have said they still haven’t decided who they are going to vote for. But £100,000 for this sort of publicity is probably a gamble worth taking.

Talking of political gambling, the Star reckons up to £25 million will be bet on this election. This is probably more wishful thinking on the part of the bookies but there’s no doubt the live TV debates have generated more interest than ever. Personally, I’m bored shitless of it all now. Read more.
