Delaware online poker revenue for January 2015 has come in at $27,695.45, a massive 70% decrease from the $88,588.29 it earned in January 2014.
A short and sweet report regarding Delaware’s online poker revenue report.
It can be summed up in one word.
Crap.
I keep on banging the same drum. Introducing online poker on a state-by-state basis is like trying to have a poo without any of it sticking to the side of the toilet. It just doesn’t work. The evidence continues to mount.
Just like the poo.
Whilst overall iGaming revenue didn’t fall off a cliff ($132,075 v $145,667 = 9% decrease), online poker revenue has. It may have only dipped 3% since December 2014 ($27,695 v $28,589), but interest has waned to such a degree, that year on year online poker revenue fell by a staggering 70% ($88,588 v $27,695).
It’s not that Delawareans don’t want to gamble from the comfort of their own home. They do. But they would prefer to play table games, instead of poker. Jan 2015 figures showing a 66% increase year-on-year ($67,047 v $22,487) in table game action.
You don’t have a liquidity problem when playing table games. It’s you against the house. The house might always win, but who cares about all of that old nonsense.
Back in February, journalist Steve Tetreault tweeted that Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval said the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement with Delaware would be implemented within 4-6 weeks.
It had better get its skates on.
