Betfair iPhone app update; Tabcorp show internet growth; Sporting Solutions appoint new MD

Betfair iPhoneBetfair’s legion of mobile betting customers will be feeling like birthday and Christmas have come at the same time after the firm released updates to their iPhone product. Just two days before the launch of the iPhone 4S, Betfair updated the application interface to provide quicker access to markers and added price/volume graphs seen on Betfair.com. There is now a customizable carousel enabling personalization of the application landing-page and the only thing they’re not giving you is a free Meerkat toy for signing up.

Richard Hewitt, Head of Mobile Product at Betfair, told us, “This is an exciting update to our iPhone app, which will give Mobile customers quicker access to markets and allow them benefit from more of the traditional features available on the Exchange. It is part of our ongoing upgrades to our sophisticated suite of mobile products.”

Australian wagering company, Tabcorp, released a trading update for the first quarter of the 2012 financial year. The data reflects their positive growth in revenue, which was up 2.7% on the prior corresponding period. The largest wagering growth was via the Internet where there was a rise of 19.8%.,

Tabcorp believe their Wagering division’s positive revenue and turnover trends were underpinned by the introduction of the animated racing game Trackside in New South Wales.
