It took approximately three months of jumping through hopes and doing the dance, before finally, player protection regulators were satisfied that Finaland’s Ray had met suitable standards. Now the company is moving full speed ahead with launching its online gambling service, powered by Playtech.
With the launch of Ray’s online gambling service, Finnish residents will have access to over 150 slot and casino table games at Ray.fi. The new offering will include popular games such as JokeriPokeri and as well as Playtech’s branded slots, in addition to an online poker offering featuring seven different poker formats. The launch was originally scheduled for August, but regulators had thrown hissy fits in concern over the amount of money customers would be able to spend.
Kari Hyttinen, Head of RAY Internet gaming operations said, “It has been a close collaboration between Playtech and ourselves as we have worked to develop the very best online gaming environment for Finnish players under what is a new regulatory environment”.
Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer also commented, “Responsible gaming is a key feature of regulated markets and RAY has consistently been at the forefront of best practice and setting the highest standards…We have developed innovative solutions to what were complex requirements and are delighted to deliver a complete solution for RAY and industry-leading content for their Finnish players.”
