Aussie-Pols-Election-BettingMajor political muttering Down Under with the revelations that senior figures from each political party have been placing heavy bets on the results of upcoming federal election – and not necessarily for their own side. Political betting has become Australian bookmakers’ biggest growth area of late, but naturally, this brouhaha has given anti-gambling Senator Nick Xenophon fresh grist for his mill, and he wants a complete and utter halt to all election betting.
