Gopal Kanda, the owner of the floating gaming parlor Big Daddy Casino on Goa’s Mandovi River, just made history as being the first casino owner to be seated in an Indian state legislature. Kanda won as an independent candidate in Haryana state, which is not where his casino is located. But the casino mogul is not a novice in politics as he was previously elected in Haryana but lost his reelection bid in 2014.
