Sweden’s Spelinspektionen regulatory agency has dropped its investigation of Betsson, Bet365, AB Trav Och Galopp, and Spooniker after it found that they were not accepting wagers for underage athletes.

The Story
Sweden’s gambling regulator Spelinspektionen has declared that the four locally licensed gambling operators – Betsson, Bet365, local racing monopoly AB Trav Och Galopp (ATG) and Spooniker did not accept wagers on contests involving athletes under the age of 18. The regulator started its investigation in April when it warned that some licensees were accepting in-play bets on the performance of some underage athletes. But after its investigation, the Spelinspektionen found that the players involved “were largely over 18 years.” It remains to be seen whether the regulator is also reviewing the cases of other operators who recently received warnings.
