The Story
Sweden’s Reklamombudsmannen (RO) advertising watchdog ruled that the May 2018 ads of CherryAB’s Hajper online casino brand ran afoul to the country’s Gaming Act. The ads in question featured a cartoon male superhero with a capital H on his chest and were displayed in Stockholm’s subway. The posters also promoted potential jackpots. In its ruling, RO said the posters clearly targeted children or anyone under 18 years of age. However, the decision did not elaborate on what punishment will be handed out to CherryAB.
