The U.S. Department of the Interior has approved the revised gaming compact between the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Connecticut’s state government that will see the construction of a $400m casino in the state. Mashantucket chairman Rodney Butler hailed his tribe’s victory and expressed gratitude to other DOI officials. With the approval of the government finally in the bag, the next problem that the tribe needs to solve is securing the necessary funding for the project.
