Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) will finally get to enter New Jersey’s regulated online gambling market after signing deals with Golden Nugget Atlantic City and SBTech.
CDI expects to launch in New Jersey by Q1 of 2019.
The company’s deal with Golden Nugget Atlantic City will allow the former to operate online gambling. Golden Nugget, touted as New Jersey’s online gambling market leader, will add CDI to its roster of brands alongside UK-listed operator Paddy Power Betfair and Pennsylvania’s SugarHouse Casino. On the other hand, SBTech will provide CDI an iGaming platform consisting of a consumer-facing website, mobile apps and back office systems to manage both online gambling and sports betting.
CDI last made an attempt to enter the New Jersey online gambling market in 2014 when it sought to be the “exclusive online vendor” of Atlantic City’s since-shuttered Showboat casino.
