The Story

Despite earnest efforts to raise funds, the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) failed to reach its $25,000 donation target—an event that will likely determine if it will cease its operations.

Support is good but PPA needs cash.

The PPA only received $6,015 from the public, despite the initial public support it gained during the start of the fundraiser. In its message to call for donations, PPA said that they “cannot continue fighting for poker” if they will fail to raise $25,000. With the failed donation drive, the PPA needs to examine options on how it will be able to source funds for its operations. The PPA, which is an interest group lobbying for the rights of poker players, once boasted that it had more than a million members.
