History repeats itself in Kansas, as the Sumner county commissioners once again throw their support behind a casino proposal for Wellington, while putting the kibosh on two casino proposals for Mulvane. The last time this happened, things got a little messy, and led to a legal battle that is still pending in the courts. Sumner Commissioners in a unanimous vote, endorsed a proposal by the Oklahoma-based, Global Gaming LLC for a $255 million casino to be built at Wellington’s Turnpike exit. Where there are winners, there are usually losers, and both Peninsula Gaming and Harrah’s Entertainment still plan to obtain endorsements from the city to build their casinos. Read more.
