With pressure from the European Union as well as new economic concerns, many feel that it’s only a matter of time before President Obama legalizes online gaming. A representative of Merill Lynch has said that the prohibition of online gaming will eventually be giving way to regulation. One major catalyst for regulation may be the fact that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that currently prohibits online gaming in the US violates EU trade regulations.
