A couple of tales from the World Series of Poker including Maurice Hawkins winning a record 13th World Series of Poker Circuit gold ring and the World Series of Poker Europe adding a €25k Short-Deck High Roller.

Maurice Hawkins can once again park his car in the spot ‘Reserved for the Leader of the All-Time World Series of Poker Circuit Gold Ring Wins’ after taking down Event #8: $400 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack at the WSOPC event in Harrah’s Tunica.

Hawkins earned $31,372 for navigating his way through a field of 432-entrants, a fortnight after beating 391-entrants to win his 12th gold ring in a $600 No-Limit Hold’em event in Harrah’s Cherokee.

It’s a remarkable achievement as Hawkins has now won 27 live tournaments since 2005, with nearly half of them coming in the WSOPC. All told, Hawkins has earned $3,728,100 competing in live tournaments, and he will head for the WSOP in Las Vegas desperate to add that sliver of gold to his treasure chest full of gold.

Maurice Hawkins most significant cash in recent times was the $115,500 he earned for finishing runner-up to Isaac Haxton in the $10,500 No-Limit Hold’em Short-Deck during the 2018 Poker Masters, and if you are a fan of the format and are hanging around in Europe in October, then I have some good news for you.

The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) has added an 11th gold bracelet event to the schedule, and it’s one the high roller fraternity will adore.
