PokerStars has announced plans to host their first-ever live Spin & Go tournament at the forthcoming European Poker Tour festival in Malta; Online Spin & Go jackpots increase to 10,000x the buy-in.
It’s not easy being a live tournament grinder these days. It’s a case of deep pockets or wealthy backers. As the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) reaches its climax, the European Poker Tour (EPT) opens the doors of its Maltese festival.
It’s the second time the EPT has held a festival in Malta. Last year, Jean Montury won the €5,300 Main Event, earning, €687,400, and the Pole Dzmitry Urbanovich announced his presence to the world after winning a record-breaking four side events. He would go on to win the EPT11 Player of the Year award.
There will be 76 events sandwiched between Oct 20-31. The Portomaso Casino will act as hosts. The festival will have a place for the Italian Poker Tour (IPT). Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano now runs that not so little outfit. They will be celebrating their milestone 50th event in Malta.
The highlights of the festival are as follows:
€1,100 IPT Main Event
€2,200 IPT High Roller
€5,300 EPT Main Event
€10,200 Single Day High Roller
€10,300 EPT High Roller
€25,750 High Roller
As you would expect, PokerStars continue with the innovation. The uber popular Spin & Go concept will hit the brick and mortar floor for the first time. The three-handed super-turbo events will carry a €50 price tag, and players can win a maximum of €1,000. The randomiser will be a Wheel of Fortune style…well…wheel.
Full Tilt will also get into the action with a live version of the Flipouts being held for the first time. In the first stage, players are forced to move all-in every hand until only one winner remains at each table. At this time, everyone is in the money, and they will fight it out in a traditional No-Limit Hold’em tournament to determine the winner.
PokerStars Increase Spin & Go Prize
PokerStars has also increased the top prize in their online Spin & Go games. They have increased the Jackpot from a 3,000x multiplier to a 10,000x multiplier. This means low rollers firing off a $1 bet could win $10,000, and the $100 high rollers can now bag a cool million bucks.
The rake structure remains unaltered by the changes.
