Sands China has announced it will be celebrating the opening of its new Sands Cotai Central resort to the extremes by having skywalkers traverse 150 meters above ground between the property and the Venetian.
A report by Macau Business reveals that two people with a death wish, named Jade Kindar-Martin and wife Karine Mauffrey, will traverse the 500-metre distance on a wire when the new resort opens on 11 April.
Good news for Macau’s economy as the city’s Composite Consumer Price Index – the main indicator for inflation – increased by 5.81% year-on-year in February.
According to a report by Macau Business, the increment was attributable to rising charges for meals bought away from home, as well as higher prices for fresh pork and gasoline.
The Statistics and Census Service also revealed for the 12 months ended February, the average Composite CPI increased by 6.05% from the preceding period.
Some more good news for Macau’s economy as the city maintained its sixth position in the annual corruption perception ranking from Political and Economic Risk Consultancy.
Released yesterday, the ranking demonstrates how Macau remains sixth with a grade of 2.85, much lower than the 4.68 points it scored last year, according to a press release from Macau’s Commission Against Corruption.
The assessment views 10 points as the most corrupt and a lower grade reflects a better integrity situation.
