Sportsbook.com moves non US customers to new domain

sportsbook com us marketSportsbook.com is to move all of its non-US players to a new brand later today. According to an email seen by CalvinAyre.com, the site on Sportsbook Review’s (SBR) avoid list will be moving their account to an “all-new and exciting sportsbook and casino.”

When Sportsbook.com was contacted in relation to what the name will be changed to, they gave little away except…well…most of it. By going to global.sportsbook.com site and then launching the live chat you are redirected to winunited.com before eventually ending up at YouWin.com. We imagine that’s how many transfers it would take to get to the isle Alderney on a good day.

The email, which came under the tag line “We’re changing the way you play,” explains that the first change will be players having to adopt a new username and password (if you’re quick agould might still be available!). Then there’s the cash that was in your non-US Sportsbook.ag account. The new balance will now be in Euros as opposed to dollars and anything left over in your account will be converted at above the exchange rate. It means the player will gain an amount of money!

In terms of withdrawals the releases states, “All pending withdrawals will be cancelled and the funds returned to your account. The funds shall be available to withdraw once your new account is active on the new and exciting non-US Resident Sportsbook.com.”

Seeing as they haven’t been the best with withdrawals in the past, this is slightly worrying to say the least. Couple this with their cost cutting measures over the past year and players will be touching cloth. Another thing – open bets will be cancelled and money returned. No word yet on whether upon trying to make the bet again you will get the same odds. We’d guess not.

The company was one of those to shut down to US-players post Black Friday – although it should be added it was still pretty fricking easy to get a piece of that D-rated US-ass if you wanted to. After this they decided time was ripe to change their US domain to Sportsbook.com.au. That lasted as long as Aaron Gould’s claimed tenure at the company did as they eventually converted that to Sportsbook.ag.

It’s remains to bee seen how smooth this transition is and with a place on SBR’s avoid list, we aren’t expecting it to be that pretty. They have done right before though. All we do now is to wait with baited breath for Gould to come out claiming YouWin.com as his own whilst clutching a tickle-me-Elmo doll. Also, is there ever a bad time to air our Aaron Gould Greatest Hits? Didn’t think so…
