Sports gambling is helping to create jobs in the U.S. The continued expansion of interest across the country is helping to drive new involvement and will continue to support an industry that some have asserted could be worth as much as $150 billion. One of the latest to join the race is Smarkets, which just inked a casino partnership with Full House Resorts for the gambling operator’s properties in two states.

Smarkets to launch sports gambling app in Indiana, ColoradoThe new relationship is said to be a “multimillion-dollar” and long-term partnership, but more details weren’t provided on those points. Smarkets is going to roll out its SBK online sportsbook in Indiana, where the activity is already legal, later this year and then could follow up with a launch in Colorado. The latter is contingent upon that state’s voters signing off on a ballot measure to allow sports gambling this November. The sportsbook only comes in a mobile version, available for both Android and iOS devices.

The founder and CEO of Smarkets said in a statement announcing the new deal, “This is a landmark day for Smarkets. As an American myself, I’m thrilled to bring our world-leading technology to Indiana and Colorado, as well as more states across the country.”

“I truly believe that an agile company like ours can make a huge impact against some of the bigger players thanks to our superior technology and focus on providing the best prices.”

Smarkets is based in London and was founded 11 years ago. It has since expanded to have offices in Malta and Los Angeles and its sportsbook is only the first of several products it hopes to provide to U.S.-based sports gambling fans. Following a successful entry with the gambling platform, it next has hopes that it can introduce its gambling exchange, a platform that reportedly has trading volume of over $15.6 billion.

Full House Resorts’ SVP and Chief Development Officer, Alex Stolyar, adds about the new partnership, “This is a very exciting time for sports betting in Indiana and Colorado, and we are delighted to partner with Smarkets. The SBK sportsbook platform that Jason and his team have built brings many new innovations to the industry, including a unique social network to heighten the customer experience.”
