Michael Goh named new president of Dream Cruises

Michael Goh named new president of Dream CruisesOn August 1, it was announced that Michael Goh would become the new president of Dream Cruises. This is a big promotion for the executive at Genting Hong Kong, who will also serve as the head of international sales for Genting Cruise Lines. According to a report, Goh will remain in Singapore where he has served as the President of Genting Cruise Lines.

Goh came to Genting Hong Kong 20 years ago and has served in some of the most important executive positions within the company, including as senior vice president of international sales for Dream Cruises as well as head of Asian sales and marketing for Crystal Cruises. He has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry throughout Asia and clearly has the credentials to serve in his new position. He’ll now be counted on to keep the floating casinos at the top of tourists minds when thinking of vacation ideas.

In a statement by Tan Sri KT Lim, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Genting Hong Kong explained that“Michael’s long experience developing the Asian cruise industry with Genting HK and as a key member in the start-up of Dream Cruises will further strengthen the brand with his appointment as President of Dream Cruises. With his strong relationships in the travel industry, he will lay the sales and marketing strategies for the successful arrival of the first of two 204,000 gross ton Global Class ships in 2021.”

Dream Cruises currently has an impressive fleet of cruise ships, including two “Dream Class” ships whose homeports include Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Singapore. There are additional deployments in Taiwan as well. Early in 2019, the company launched its first cruises outside of Asia, with vessels going to Australia and New Zealand. The Explorer Dream will also be providing services from China to Japan, Hong Kong, Russia, and the Philippines.

Goh has earned a great deal of respect within Dream Cruises and appears excited to be taking the helm in his new position. “When I look back over the past 20 years developing the cruise business with Genting HK, I am proud of our collective team efforts and the challenges we have overcome along the way. I look forward to this next chapter as President of Dream Cruises and the possibilities that lie ahead.”

He continued by adding, “On behalf of Dream Cruises, I thank our trade partners, government representatives, tourism promotion boards and the media for their continued support, and look forward to working together over the coming years to further develop our brand and the cruise industry as a whole.”
