Delta Corp.’s Adda52 online poker portal is getting serious about helping to crack down on gambling addictions. The India-centric platform adda52-implements-responsible-gaming-policieshas announced that it has introduced a new program to promote responsible gaming on the platform, which will allow users to establish table or stake limits, as well as self-exclude themselves from being able to play on the site, or through its mobile app, for a determined amount of time.

According to a post from a few days ago, Adda52 explains that players can set table blind limits that, when set, will prevent them from playing at tables that exceed the limit. Once the limit is configured, it cannot be increased for seven days, but can be decreased if a player chooses. In addition, players can set buy-in limits for sit-and-go events and tournaments, as well.

The auto-exclusion feature will prevent players from making a deposit or playing any of the games on the platform for a set amount of time, which is chosen by the individual. Players can still access the site during the cooling-off period, but will not be able to play any games, including free-to-play games.

In separate comments about the policies, Adda52 Product Head Kapil Arora has stated, “Poker is a skill-based game that can be mastered with proper study and constant practice. Some people enjoy playing poker as a hobby and some people play it professionally. But there are a few players who could be irrational and spend more than necessary time on the game. Responsible gaming is a step towards inculcating discipline among the poker players.

“It will help players to decide when and how to play the game in a responsible way, and how much money or time to spend at the tables. As a category leader, it is our duty to make the game as safe, ethical and secure as possible.”

India still has a love-hate relationship with gambling and no one can predict where, as a country, it will head. However, various industries have started campaigning for operators to take the initiative to offer responsible gaming solutions. The Rummy Federation, the All India Gaming Federation and the Indian Federation for Sports Gaming have been involved in the campaign, hoping to show regulators and lawmakers that the industry is capable of acting responsibly.
