G2E Asia’s 13th edition has wrapped up Thursday in Macau surpassing last year’s numbers by 5%, making the 2019 show the most successful in its history.

After the non-participation of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) at this year’s conference due to the alleged illegal gambling promotions that took place in the event, G2E Asia released its statement maintaining its strong commitment with Macao SAR authorities to ensuring the integrity of the show, and that its exhibitors meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, schedule of activities went on for hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors.

Kicking off Day 3 conference was a keynote speech by Global Market Advisor’s John English on shaping the future of sportsbetting in Asia. The region remains to be the world’s largest sportsbetting market, and yet mostly unregulated. He mentioned that with the fast-moving nature of the industry, the region needs a progressive regulatory environment. English added that good regulation is replicable and countries in Asia can approach these regulatory concerns by looking at existing regulations that work in certain markets and jurisdictions from around the globe.

Keith McDonnell, KMI Gaming founder and CEO, followed English’s address and broke down the current landscape of sportsbetting regulatory frameworks in Asia and the rest of the world. More than the language and cultural differences and barriers, McDonnell pointed out the critical role of taxation play for any sportsbetting business to thrive in the region.

G2E Asia is all about providing a platform for companies and their selections of gaming products and features. At the expo floor, BetInvest launched its newest solution iFrame, specifically tailored for the Asian sportsbetting and esports market.

As seen regularly in the show, casino products and solutions massive display hit the expo halls. Joe Pisano, CEO of industry supplier and tech provider Jade Gaming and Technology, shared his insights with CalvinAyre.com on how crucial operator and supplier relationship is in the success of casino operations.

Scientific Games’ Jin Ji Bao Xi, which won the Best Electronic Game Solution award at the recent G2E Asia Awards, was also on display this year. CalvinAyre.com caught up with its VP and Managing Director Ken Jolly on this recent accolade and he also shared his excitement on the growing casino scene in Asia.
