2 August 2017, Budapest: The organizers of CEEGC2017 are are excited to announce two great speakers who will join the Innovation Talks Cryptocurrency panel. Especially since cryptocurrencies and most of all Bitcoin is the hottest topic at this moment.
With all the rumors and debates you could soon be witnessing that your checking account has second account, stocked with an equal amount of a newly created currency. This could happen to many people who hold the bitcoins today.
This is something that need to be taken into consideration, especially that just this week, a new currency called Bitcoin Cash is due to appear, split from bitcoin in a technical maneuver called a “hard fork.” It’s the project of a group that says bitcoin’s keepers are limiting its reach by resisting change.
The creation of Bitcoin Cash is the most striking result yet of a 2-year-old feud over bitcoin’s future. Bitcoin is collectively valued at $47 billion but remains a niche product. Backers of the new currency say it’s necessary if bitcoin is to make a real mark on how the world uses money.
Bitcoin Cash’s confusing origin and name is at the risk of making it harder for cryptocurrency to gain wider acceptance.
Adding to the confusion: Not everyone who holds bitcoin will get an instant stash of Bitcoin Cash today. Some leading bitcoin-storage services have said they won’t recognize the new currency, forcing people to move their business if they want to claim the new variety of cryptocoins.
So, with all this said, is the online gambling industry safe? Will this affect bitcoin gamblers worldwide? It is certainly something to be discussed during CEEGC 2017.
“Innovation Talks – The Cryptocurrency Effect” panel is scheduled to be held between 12:00 – 13:00 (Budapest Local Time) on the 19th of September (Day 1) during the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference Budapest. (you can view the full agenda here).
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Joseph F. Borg, who is currently a Senior Advisor at a legal firm specializing in Gaming, WH Partners, and a vice president of BitMalta, an association that wants to raise awareness and support for the use of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Borg’s previous working experience includes the position of Chief Regulatory Officer at the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority (just Malta Gaming Authority now).
