Alex Goulder challenges Rob Yong to a table tennis match at the WPT UK Festival; partypoker launch Twitch channel; Beata ‘WildHungarian’ Jambrik joins the team.
Did you know that Rob Yong was a dab hand at ping pong?
Apparently, he is a former five-time county champion in Nottingham, and that’s not good news for Alex Goulder, who had one too many and challenged him to a match with each of them putting up £10k in cash.
According to the Blonde Poker Forum Goulder challenged Yong to a first to 21 point match after getting a little razzled with Simon Deadman. The pair will get it on as part of the World Poker Tour (WPT) UK festivities taking part at DTD Oct 22 – Nov 6. The money will go to charity.
Here is Goulder warming up for the event.

Rob Yong, 44, is so confident of whipping Goulder’s ass with his ping pong paddle, he has even given the 27-year old a 10-point start. Goulder doesn’t think it’s enough.
“I’ll be lucky to get a single point,” said Goulder.
At least Goulder will lose some weight during the bet. According to Weight Watchers, table tennis fish can expect to burn between 200 & 350 calories per hour.
Goulder is a former DTD Monte Carlo winner, beating World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, Matt Perrins, heads-up to take the £77,513 first prize in 2011. He is also a WPT National winner after picking up the title in Prague back in 2014 for €105,000.
The WPT UK Festival will contain £3m in guaranteed prize money with the marquee events being the £550 buy-in WPT500, £2,200 buy-in WPT Main Event, and £5,300 buy-in Devilfish Cup.
